8mm Elephant Foot Valve Adjusting Screw Set (Tappet) - Type 1 Engines

EMPI heavy-duty elephant foot swivel valve adjusters designed for aircooled Volkswagen engines fitted with 8mm rocker arms. These high-performance swivel foot adjusters feature a large contact surface which spreads the load more evenly across the valve stem tip, helping reduce valve stem mushrooming, side loading and valve train wear under high performance conditions.

Unlike standard valve adjusting screws which contact the valve stem with a small point, elephant foot adjusters use a swivel pad style foot that maintains a larger contact area as the rocker arm moves through its operating arc. This reduces friction and side thrust on the valve stem while improving valve train geometry and longevity.

These adjusters are especially recommended for performance engines running upgraded camshafts, stronger valve springs or higher RPM applications where increased valve train stress is common.

Designed for use with all 8mm rocker arms fitted to Type 1 based aircooled VW engines. Supplied as a complete set of 8 adjusters together with shims for installation and geometry setup.

These swivel foot adjusters use splash oiling rather than direct oil feed lubrication.
