EMPI 1.40:1 Rocker Arm Assembly

EMPI forged chromoly 1.4:1 ratio rocker arm set for VW Type 1 aircooled engines. Designed for high performance and competition applications where maximum valve lift and improved cylinder head airflow are required.

These high-ratio rocker arms significantly increase valve lift over standard rockers, allowing the valves to open further for improved breathing and increased engine efficiency. They are commonly used with performance camshafts and ported cylinder heads in larger displacement and high RPM engines.

Manufactured from forged chromoly steel, the rocker arms are precision ground and heat treated for maximum strength and durability under extreme operating conditions. This heavy-duty construction makes them suitable for engines running higher spring pressures and aggressive camshaft profiles.

Unlike older needle bearing style rocker assemblies, these use precision bronze bushings with through-hole lubrication for improved reliability and long service life. The alloy adjuster screws are internally drilled so oil flows directly through the rocker arms and adjusters, ensuring proper lubrication throughout the valvetrain.

The kit includes high-strength rocker shafts, blocks, shims and chromoly rocker studs for a complete installation. Due to the increased ratio, correct valve train geometry is critical and cut-to-length pushrods are required to achieve proper setup depending on the camshaft and cylinder head combination being used.
