Threaded Oil Gallery Plug Kit

This 12 piece oil gallery plug kit is one of the first upgrades recommended for any serious Aircooled Volkswagen engine build. Designed to convert the original factory press-in oil gallery plugs to threaded pipe plugs, this kit allows full access to the engine’s internal oil passages for proper cleaning, inspection and maintenance during engine rebuilding.

Contaminants, swarf and sludge can remain trapped inside the oil galleries of used engine cases, even after standard cleaning procedures. By machining the case and fitting threaded plugs, the oil galleries can be thoroughly cleaned and inspected, helping improve oil system reliability and protecting vital engine components during operation.

Manufactured from lightweight aluminium, these threaded plugs provide a secure and serviceable solution for performance, race and high quality street engine builds. Once installed, the oil galleries can be reopened in the future for inspection or additional cleaning work.

The smaller plugs in this kit can also be used for plugging EGR holes on Type 4 cylinder heads.
