3/8" Drive 17mm Gearbox Drain Plug Tool

Specialist 17mm gearbox drain and filler plug socket tool designed for servicing aircooled Volkswagen gearboxes and Split Screen Bus reduction boxes. This tool is used to remove and install the recessed square-style gearbox drain and filler plugs found on classic VW transaxles.

Manufactured with a 17mm drive end and designed for use with a standard 3/8″ ratchet or extension bar, this compact tool makes gearbox oil changes much easier and helps prevent damage to drain and filler plugs caused by incorrect tools.

Suitable for both gearbox drain plugs and filler plugs, this tool is an essential workshop item for routine transmission servicing, gearbox rebuilds and oil changes on aircooled Volkswagens.

The tool is also compatible with Split Screen reduction boxes fitted to early Type 2 models up to 1967.
