Porsche 996,997 Oil Sump Plate - 1998-05

Replacement engine oil sump plate for a wide range of watercooled Porsche flat six engines fitted to 996, early 997, Boxster and Cayman models. This sump plate mounts to the underside of the engine and seals the lower oil sump section, helping retain engine oil while protecting internal engine components.

The sump plate forms part of the engine lubrication system and provides access to the oil pickup and lower crankcase area during servicing or engine repairs. Over time, original sump plates can become warped, cracked or damaged due to overtightening, corrosion, road impact or repeated removal during servicing. A damaged sump plate can lead to oil leaks, sealing issues or contamination entering the lubrication system.
