Porsche 996,997 Thermostat Housing With Thermostat (71 Degree)

High quality thermostat housing supplied complete with integrated 71°C low temperature thermostat for a wide range of watercooled Porsche flat-six engines. Designed as a direct replacement for the original thermostat assembly, this upgraded lower temperature thermostat helps improve engine cooling efficiency and reduce operating temperatures under demanding driving conditions.
The thermostat regulates coolant flow between the engine and radiator. When the engine is cold, the thermostat remains closed to allow faster warm-up. Once operating temperature is reached, it opens to circulate coolant through the radiators. This 71°C version opens earlier than the standard thermostat, helping reduce peak coolant temperatures and assisting with heat management on high performance M96 and M97 engines.
Popular on enthusiast and performance-driven cars, the lower temperature thermostat can help reduce thermal stress during spirited road use, track driving and hot weather operation. It is also commonly fitted during preventative maintenance or cooling system upgrades.
Supplied complete with thermostat pre-installed in the housing for simple installation. When replacing the thermostat housing, it is recommended to inspect coolant hoses, water pump condition and coolant expansion tank for leaks or age-related wear. Fresh Porsche-approved coolant should also be fitted after installation.
