Replacement rear brake pad wear sensor for a wide range of modern Porsche models including 991, 992, 718 Boxster/Cayman (982) and 918 Spyder applications. This sensor is fitted to the rear brake pads and monitors brake pad wear as part of the vehicle’s electronic braking system.
Brake pad wear sensors are designed to alert the driver when the brake pads have worn to their service limit. As the brake pad material wears down, the sensor contacts the brake disc and triggers the brake wear warning light on the dashboard. Replacing worn or damaged sensors during brake pad replacement ensures the warning system continues to operate correctly and prevents false warning messages.
This rear axle sensor is manufactured to meet OEM specifications for correct fitment and reliable operation. It is designed for use with disc brake systems and connects directly into the factory wiring harness.
When replacing brake pads or brake discs, it is highly recommended to inspect and replace the wear sensors if they have been triggered, damaged or become brittle due to heat exposure.
