Mk2 Sharan Rear Brake Caliper (300mm Brake Discs) - Right (TRW)

This replacement rear brake caliper is designed for VW Sharan II models built from May 2010 to November 2022, specifically vehicles fitted with an electric parking brake (EPB). Manufactured to suit the TRW braking system, this is a single-piston floating caliper supplied for the rear axle right, which on right-hand-drive (RHD) vehicles is the drivers side.

The caliper is designed to work with solid rear brake discs measuring 300mm diameter and 12mm thickness. With a 41mm piston, it delivers controlled, consistent rear braking performance while integrating seamlessly with the vehicle’s electronic handbrake system.

How it works

During normal braking, hydraulic pressure pushes the 41mm piston outward, forcing the inner pad against the disc. The floating caliper body then slides to pull the outer pad into contact, clamping the disc evenly from both sides.

On EPB-equipped vehicles, the electric parking brake motor (mounted to the caliper) mechanically applies and releases the parking brake. This ensures reliable holding force when parked and correct interaction with stability and hill-hold systems.

Fitting notes & recommended additional parts
