T4 Clutch Master Cylinder - 1990-98 (All Models Except 2.5 TDI And 2.8 VR6)

This replacement clutch master cylinder is designed for VW T4 Transporter models built before April 1998, excluding vehicles fitted with 2.5 TDI and 2.8 AES engines. It provides a direct replacement for worn or leaking original units, restoring proper clutch operation and pedal feel.

The clutch master cylinder is a key component of the hydraulic clutch system. When the clutch pedal is pressed, it converts mechanical force into hydraulic pressure, which is then transmitted to the slave cylinder to disengage the clutch. Over time, internal seals can wear or fail, leading to symptoms such as a soft or sinking pedal, difficulty selecting gears, or fluid leaks inside the cab or around the pedal area.

This 19mm bore cylinder ensures correct hydraulic pressure and smooth clutch engagement when operating correctly. Replacing a faulty master cylinder will restore consistent pedal response and improve gear selection. For best results, it is recommended to inspect or replace the clutch slave cylinder, hydraulic line and fluid at the same time to ensure the entire system is working efficiently.
