Mk5+Mk6 Polo Front Brake Caliper (256mm Brake Discs) - Left (Mando)

This front left brake caliper is a direct replacement for Volkswagen Polo Mk5 (6R) and Mk6 (AW/BZ) models fitted with 256 mm vented front brake discs. On RHD vehicles, this caliper fits the passenger side (left-hand side) of the front axle and is manufactured to suit MANDO braking systems as originally fitted.

Featuring a single 54 mm piston and a floating caliper design, it delivers smooth, even braking performance with correct pad alignment and consistent pedal feel—ideal for restoring factory braking performance on daily-driven Polos.

What this brake caliper does

The front brake caliper converts hydraulic pressure from the brake master cylinder into clamping force on the brake pads. When you press the brake pedal, the piston pushes the inner pad against the disc while the floating caliper body slides to pull the outer pad into contact. This balanced action ensures effective stopping power and even pad wear.

How it works

Designed for 256 mm x 22 mm vented discs, the caliper’s floating mechanism allows it to self-centre during braking, reducing noise, vibration and uneven wear. The 54 mm piston provides the correct hydraulic leverage for confident stopping while maintaining smooth, progressive braking response.
