Passat B8 Rear Brake Caliper (300mm Brake Discs) - Right (ATE)

This rear brake caliper – right-hand side is a direct replacement for vehicles fitted with electric parking brake (EPB) and PR codes 1KU or 2EM (also 2EI where specified). Manufactured for ATE braking systems, it is designed to operate with 300mm solid rear brake discs and restore correct braking performance, pad wear, and EPB function.

RHD clarification: On right-hand-drive vehicles, Right = Driver Side.

What this brake caliper does

The rear brake caliper converts hydraulic pressure into clamping force via a 42mm single piston, pressing the brake pads against the rear disc to slow the vehicle and maintain braking balance. Although the front brakes do most of the stopping, the rear system is critical for stability, ABS/ESC operation, and consistent pedal feel.

On EPB-equipped vehicles, the caliper also interfaces with the electric parking brake motor, allowing the handbrake to apply and release electronically. A worn or seized caliper can cause uneven pad wear, dragging brakes, overheating, or EPB warning lights—making replacement essential when faults occur.
