Passat B6 Rear Brake Caliper - 2007-11 (282mm Brake Discs) - Left (TRW)

This rear brake caliper – right side is a direct-fit replacement for Volkswagen Passat and Volkswagen Passat CC models fitted with electric parking brake (EPB) and PR code 1KU. Designed to work with 282mm solid rear brake discs, this TRW floating caliper restores correct braking performance, pad wear, and reliable EPB operation.

RHD clarification: On right-hand-drive vehicles, Right = Drivers Side.

What this brake caliper does

The rear brake caliper converts hydraulic brake pressure into clamping force via its 38mm piston, pressing the brake pads against the rear disc to slow the vehicle. Although the front brakes do most of the work, properly functioning rear calipers are essential for vehicle stability, balanced braking, and effective ABS/ESC operation.

On EPB-equipped vehicles, this caliper also interfaces with the electric parking brake system, allowing the handbrake to be applied and released electronically. A worn or seized caliper can lead to uneven pad wear, dragging brakes, EPB faults, or dashboard warning lights—making replacement critical when faults occur.
