Passat B6,B7 Rear Brake Caliper (310mm Brake Discs) - Left (TRW)

This rear brake caliper – left-hand side is a correct replacement for Volkswagen Passat and Volkswagen Passat CC models equipped with larger 310mm vented rear brake discs, electric parking brake (EPB), and PR codes 2EA or 2EL. Manufactured for TRW braking systems, this caliper is designed to handle higher braking loads found on more powerful petrol and diesel variants.

RHD note: On right-hand-drive vehicles, Left = Passenger Side.

What this brake caliper does

The rear brake caliper applies hydraulic pressure to the brake pads via a 41mm piston, clamping them onto the rear brake disc to slow the vehicle and maintain braking balance. Although rear brakes contribute less stopping force than the front, they are essential for vehicle stability, ABS/ESC operation, and safe high-speed braking.

On vehicles with electric parking brake, the caliper also works in conjunction with the EPB motor to electronically apply and release the handbrake. A worn, seized, or leaking caliper can cause uneven pad wear, overheating, poor braking performance, or EPB fault warnings—making timely replacement critical.

The vented disc compatibility allows for improved heat dissipation on high-output engines, helping maintain consistent braking under sustained or heavy use.
