What this brake drum does

Rear brake drums work with the wheel cylinders and brake shoes to slow the vehicle and maintain braking balance. When the brake pedal is applied, hydraulic pressure pushes the wheel cylinder pistons outward, forcing the shoes against the inside of the drum. The friction generated slows the rear wheels in a controlled manner, supporting overall braking stability and correct handbrake operation.
