Type 1 Stainless Steel Pushrod Tube - 1300cc + 1500cc + 1600cc Engines

This stainless steel push rod tube is a direct replacement for standard tubes fitted to 1300cc–1600cc aircooled Volkswagen engines. Designed to house and protect the pushrods between the crankcase and cylinder heads, it plays a vital role in maintaining correct engine operation and oil control.

Push rod tubes allow the pushrods to transfer motion from the camshaft to the rocker arms while keeping engine oil contained within the system. They are sealed at both ends with rubber seals to prevent oil leaks. Over time, original tubes can corrode, dent, or lose sealing pressure, leading to oil leaks and contamination. Replacing worn tubes ensures proper sealing and helps maintain engine reliability.

Manufactured from durable stainless steel, these tubes offer improved resistance to corrosion compared to original mild steel versions, making them ideal for long-term use in both standard and restored engines. Their rigid construction ensures correct alignment and consistent sealing pressure when installed with new seals.

Each tube has an approximate starting length of 210mm with a 19mm internal diameter, matching standard Type 1 engine specifications. These are solid (non-expandable) tubes and are typically installed during engine rebuilds or when cylinder heads are removed. For best results, always fit with new push rod tube seals and ensure correct installation depth and alignment.

Sold individually, with 8 required per engine for a complete set. It is recommended to replace all tubes at the same time to ensure even sealing and long-term reliability.
