This 312mm front brake disc is a performance-grade replacement designed specifically for VW Polo Mk6 (AW/BZ) models fitted with PR code 1ZB. Commonly found on higher-powered variants, including 2.0 and 1.5 petrol models, this larger diameter disc provides increased braking torque and improved heat management compared to smaller front disc setups.
What this brake disc does
The front brake discs are the primary braking components on your Polo, responsible for converting vehicle speed into stopping power. When the brake pedal is pressed, hydraulic pressure forces the caliper to clamp the brake pads onto the disc face, creating friction that slows the vehicle.
With its 312mm diameter, this disc offers a larger swept area, allowing the brakes to generate more stopping force with less effort. The internally vented construction uses internal cooling vanes to pull air through the disc as it rotates, reducing heat build-up under hard braking. This helps prevent brake fade, improves pedal consistency, and supports confident braking during spirited driving or repeated heavy stops.
