Mk6 Polo Front Brake Disc (256mm Vented)

This replacement front brake disc is designed for the VW Polo Mk6 (AW / BZ), produced from June 2017 onwards, and fitted with PR codes 1ZG or 1ZJ. Featuring an internally vented design and a protective anti-corrosion coating, this disc delivers dependable braking performance and long service life for modern Mk6 Polo models.

What the part does & how it works

The front brake disc is the primary friction surface in the braking system. When the brake pedal is pressed, hydraulic pressure forces the brake caliper to clamp the brake pads against both faces of the disc. The friction generated slows the rotation of the wheel and safely brings the vehicle to a stop.

The internally vented construction allows heat to dissipate efficiently through internal cooling vanes. This helps reduce brake fade during repeated stops, improves braking consistency, and extends both pad and disc life—ideal for everyday driving and urban use typical of the Polo Mk6.

Important fitment note:
This front brake disc is PR-code specific. It will only fit Polo Mk6 vehicles equipped with PR code 1ZG or 1ZJ. Always check the vehicle data sticker or service book before ordering.

Fitting notes

• Supplied individually, however we strongly recommend replacing front brake discs in pairs to maintain balanced braking and even pad wear.

• Before installation, clean both braking surfaces thoroughly with a good quality brake cleaner, as the disc is coated during manufacture with an anti-oxidising oil.

• Inspect brake pads, calipers, and brake hoses during fitting and replace any worn components as required.

• Correct bedding-in of new discs and pads is advised for optimum braking performance.
