This replacement front brake disc is designed for a wide range of Volkswagen T7-platform vehicles, including Volkswagen California, Volkswagen Multivan, and Volkswagen Crafter models that are equipped with PR codes 1LA or 1LB. Manufactured to original specification and finished with a protective coating, this disc provides reliable, consistent braking performance for modern VW vans and people carriers.

What the part does & how it works

The front brake disc is the primary friction surface in the braking system. When the brake pedal is applied, hydraulic pressure forces the brake caliper to clamp the brake pads against both faces of the disc. The resulting friction slows the wheel and safely brings the vehicle to a stop.

This disc features an internally vented design, allowing heat generated during braking to dissipate efficiently through internal cooling vanes. This is especially important on heavier vehicles such as Californias, Multivans, and Crafters, helping to reduce brake fade, maintain consistent stopping power, and extend pad and disc life during repeated braking or when driving under load.

This disc is PR-code specific. It will only fit vehicles with PR code 1LA or 1LB. Always check the vehicle data sticker or service book before ordering.

Fitting notes

• Supplied individually, but we strongly recommend replacing front brake discs in pairs to ensure balanced braking and even pad wear.

• Before installation, clean both braking surfaces thoroughly with a good quality brake cleaner to remove the anti-oxidising oil applied during manufacture.

• Inspect brake pads, calipers, and brake hoses at the same time and replace any worn components as required.

• Correct bedding-in of new discs and pads is advised for optimum performance and longevity.
