Mk4 Caddy Rear Brake Caliper (272mm Brake Discs) - Right (TRW)

This replacement rear brake caliper is designed for VW Caddy Mk4 (Caddy IV) models from May 2015 onwards equipped with TRW braking systems. It is the correct right-hand rear caliper for vehicles using 272mm solid rear brake discs and features an integrated mechanical parking brake mechanism.

On RHD vehicles, this caliper fits the right-hand side (driver’s side).

What the part does & how it works

The rear brake caliper has two critical functions:

1. Service braking – Hydraulic pressure pushes the single piston outward, clamping the brake pads against the rear brake disc to slow the vehicle.

2. Parking brake operation – The integrated handbrake mechanism mechanically applies the brake when the handbrake lever is engaged, securing the vehicle when parked.

The single-piston floating design allows the caliper to self-centre over the disc as the pads wear. This ensures even pad contact, smooth braking performance, and consistent handbrake operation. Replacing a seized or worn caliper prevents dragging brakes, uneven pad wear, and poor handbrake efficiency.

Important fitment note:
This caliper is TRW-specific and fits vehicles equipped with 272×10mm solid rear brake discs. It will not fit vehicles with Bosch braking systems or different rear disc sizes. Always confirm the original caliper manufacturer before ordering.

• Sold individually; for best braking balance and handbrake operation, replace rear brake calipers in axle pairs.

• Inspect brake pads, discs, handbrake cables, and flexible hoses during installation.

• Bleed the braking system after fitting and adjust the handbrake as required.
