Mk3 Caddy Rear Brake Caliper (256mm Brake Discs) - Right (TRW)

This replacement rear brake caliper is designed to fit VW Caddy Mk3 (Caddy III) models from March 2004 to May 2015, equipped with TRW braking systems. It is the correct right-hand rear caliper for vehicles using solid rear brake discs and includes an integrated mechanical parking brake mechanism.

On RHD vehicles, this caliper fits the right-hand side (driver’s side).

What the part does & how it works

The rear brake caliper performs two key functions:

1. Service braking – Hydraulic pressure pushes the internal piston outward, clamping the brake pads against the disc to slow the vehicle.

2. Parking brake operation – An integrated handbrake mechanism mechanically applies the brake when the handbrake lever is engaged, holding the vehicle securely when parked.

The single-piston floating design allows the caliper to self-centre over the disc as pads wear, ensuring even braking force and consistent pad wear. Replacing a seized or worn caliper restores smooth braking action and reliable handbrake performance.
