Mk1 Crafter Rear Brake Disc (298mm Solid)

This replacement rear brake disc is designed for VW Crafter I models from April 2006 to December 2016 fitted with PR codes 0WL or 0WC. Featuring a solid construction, 6-hole fixing, and a protective anti-corrosion coating, this disc is a direct replacement for the factory rear braking setup used on these specifications.

What the part does & how it works

The rear brake disc provides the friction surface for the rear disc braking system. When the brake pedal is applied, hydraulic pressure forces the rear brake caliper to clamp the brake pads against the disc faces. The friction created slows the wheel and helps stabilise the vehicle under braking, particularly when carrying loads or towing.

A correctly sized solid disc ensures proper caliper operation, even pad contact, and consistent braking performance. Worn or undersized discs can lead to vibration, uneven pad wear, or reduced stopping power. This replacement disc restores the correct braking geometry and dependable braking performance.

Important fitment note:
This rear brake disc is PR-code specific. It is suitable only for vehicles with PR code 0WL or 0WC and will not fit PR code 0WF models, which use a larger vented rear brake disc. Always confirm the PR code on the vehicle data sticker before ordering.

Fitting notes

• Supplied individually, however we strongly recommend replacing rear brake discs in pairs to maintain balanced braking and even pad wear.

• Before installation, clean both braking surfaces thoroughly with a good quality brake cleaner to remove the anti-oxidising oil applied during manufacture.

• Inspect brake pads, calipers, and brake hoses during fitting and replace any worn components as required.

• Correct bedding-in of new discs and pads is advised to achieve optimum braking performance.
