Mk1 Crafter Front Brake Disc (300mm Vented)

This replacement front brake disc is designed for VW Crafter I models from April 2006 to December 2016, fitted with 300mm vented front brake discs. Manufactured to original specification and finished with a protective anti-corrosion coating, this disc delivers reliable braking performance for both everyday driving and heavy-duty commercial use.

What the part does & how it works

The front brake disc is the main friction surface of the front braking system. When the brake pedal is applied, hydraulic pressure forces the brake caliper to clamp the brake pads against both faces of the disc. The friction generated converts kinetic energy into heat, slowing the wheel and bringing the vehicle to a controlled stop.

The vented disc design allows heat to dissipate efficiently through internal cooling channels, reducing brake fade during repeated stops, long downhill braking, or when the vehicle is heavily loaded. This ensures more consistent braking performance and helps extend the life of both the disc and brake pads.

Important fitment note:
This brake disc is PR-code specific and is only suitable for vehicles originally fitted with 300x28mm vented front discs. Always check the PR codes in the service book or vehicle data sticker before ordering.

Fitting notes

• Supplied individually, however we strongly recommend replacing front brake discs in pairs to ensure balanced braking and even pad wear.

• Before installation, clean both braking surfaces thoroughly with a good quality brake cleaner to remove the protective coating applied during manufacture.

• Inspect brake pads, calipers, and brake hoses during fitting and replace any worn components as required.

• Correct bedding-in of new discs and pads is advised for optimum braking performance.
