Mk1 Crafter Front Brake Caliper (300mm Brake Discs) - Left (Brembo)

This replacement front brake caliper is designed to fit VW Crafter I models from April 2006 to December 2016, equipped with BREMBO braking systems and vented front brake discs. It is the correct caliper for vehicles using 300mm diameter x 28mm thick front discs and matching PR numbers 0WC or 0WL.

On RHD vehicles, this caliper fits the left-hand side (passenger side).

What the part does & how it works

The front brake caliper converts hydraulic brake pressure into clamping force. When you press the brake pedal, brake fluid pressure pushes the two internal pistons outward, pressing the brake pads against both sides of the vented brake disc. The friction created slows the wheel and safely brings the vehicle to a stop.

This caliper uses a 2-piston floating design, allowing it to self-centre over the disc as the pads wear. This ensures even pad contact, consistent braking force, reduced noise, and longer pad life—particularly important on heavier vans like the Crafter that operate under load.

A worn, seized, or leaking caliper can cause pulling under braking, overheating, uneven pad wear, or reduced stopping power. Replacing the caliper restores smooth operation, correct braking balance, and confident pedal feel.

Important fitment note:
This caliper is BREMBO-specific and will only fit vehicles with PR codes 0WC or 0WL using 300x28mm vented front brake discs. It will not fit vehicles equipped with alternative brake manufacturers or different disc sizes.

Fitting notes

• Sold individually, however we strongly recommend replacing front brake calipers in axle pairs to maintain even braking performance.

• Always inspect brake pads, discs, flexible hoses, and mounting hardware when replacing a caliper.

• The braking system must be fully bled after installation.

• Replacing brake pads at the same time is strongly advised for best results.
