Mk2 LT46 Rear Brake Disc (285mm Vented)

This replacement rear brake disc is designed specifically for Volkswagen LT Mk2 (LT II) LT46 models produced from May 1996 to July 2006. Featuring a vented design, 6-hole fixing, and a durable anti-corrosion coating, this disc is engineered to handle the increased weight and braking demands of the heavier LT46 chassis.

What the part does & how it works

The rear brake disc provides the friction surface for the rear disc braking system. When the brake pedal is applied, hydraulic pressure forces the caliper to clamp the brake pads against both faces of the disc. The friction generated slows the wheel and stabilises the vehicle during braking.

On LT46 models, braking components are subjected to higher loads. The vented disc design allows heat to dissipate more efficiently through internal cooling channels, reducing brake fade during repeated stops, heavy loads, or downhill driving. This results in more consistent braking performance and longer disc and pad life.

Important fitment note:
This rear brake disc is specific to LT46 models. It will not fit LT28, LT31, or LT35 variants, which use different rear brake disc sizes and specifications. Always confirm disc diameter, thickness, and fixing holes before ordering.

Fitting notes

• Supplied individually, however we strongly recommend replacing rear brake discs in pairs to maintain balanced braking and even pad wear.

• Before installation, clean both braking surfaces thoroughly with a good quality brake cleaner to remove the anti-oxidising oil applied during manufacture.

• Inspect brake pads, calipers, and hoses during installation and replace any worn or damaged components as required.

• Correct bedding-in of new discs and pads is advised to achieve optimum braking performance.
