Mk2 LT Front Brake Disc (276mm Vented)

This replacement front brake disc is designed to fit VW LT II models from April 1975 through to July 2006, covering 2.3, 2.5D and 2.8D variants. Featuring a vented design and a 5-hole fixing, this disc is manufactured to original specification and provides reliable braking performance for these heavier commercial vehicles.

What the part does & how it works

The front brake disc is a key component of the disc braking system. When the brake pedal is pressed, hydraulic pressure forces the brake caliper to clamp the brake pads against both faces of the disc. The friction generated slows the rotation of the wheel and brings the vehicle to a controlled stop.

On heavier vehicles such as the VW LT, a vented brake disc is especially important. The internal ventilation channels allow heat to dissipate more effectively during braking, reducing the risk of brake fade under load, during repeated stops, or when driving downhill. This helps maintain consistent braking performance and prolongs both disc and pad life.

Fitting notes

• Sold individually, however we strongly recommend replacing front brake discs in pairs to ensure balanced braking and even pad wear.

• Before installation, clean the braking surfaces thoroughly with a good quality brake cleaner to remove the protective anti-oxidising coating applied during manufacture.

• Always inspect brake pads, calipers, and hoses when fitting new discs, replacing any worn or damaged components.

• Correct bedding-in of new discs and pads is advised to achieve optimum braking performance.
