This front left-hand brake backing plate is a high-quality replacement for VW Splitscreen Buses built from August 1963 to 1967. The backing plate is a vital part of the front drum braking system, supporting the brake shoes, springs, wheel cylinder and hardware while protecting the assembly from road debris, water and dust. A weakened or corroded plate can lead to poor shoe alignment, uneven braking and reduced braking efficiency.
Manufactured to OE-style dimensions for a precise fit, this plate installs directly on the front left (RHD passenger side) and restores correct alignment and safe braking performance on late Splitscreen front drum systems. Ideal for restorations, brake rebuilds or replacing damaged original components.
