Replacement glow plug relay designed to control the operation of the glow plugs on Volkswagen diesel engines. This relay plays a critical role in cold starting by supplying power to the glow plugs for a set period, allowing them to heat up and aid combustion.
When the ignition is switched on, the relay activates and sends current to the glow plugs, heating the combustion chambers. Once the engine starts, the relay may continue to operate briefly to stabilise running. A faulty relay can result in hard starting, excessive smoke, or complete non-start conditions, especially in cold weather.
This unit is a 7-pin relay, rated at 12 volts and 70 amps, and typically identified by relay position/number 12 / 102 depending on application. It is designed to match original specifications for reliable operation.
