Replacement protective rubber boot for the steering rack universal joint on left hand drive Volkswagen models without power steering. This boot fits over the steering rack UJ to help protect the joint from water, dirt, road debris and moisture contamination.

The steering rack universal joint is an important part of the steering system, connecting the steering column to the steering rack input shaft. If the protective boot becomes split, cracked or missing, dirt and water can enter the joint leading to stiffness, corrosion, steering play or premature UJ failure.
