G1 Rear Gearbox Mount - Petrol Models

Replacement rear gearbox mount for Volkswagen Golf Mk1, Jetta Mk1, Scirocco Mk1/Mk2, Golf Cabriolet and Caddy Mk1 petrol models. This rear transmission mount supports the gearbox assembly while isolating engine and transmission vibrations from the chassis using a bonded rubber-metal construction.

Designed for both manual and automatic petrol engine applications, the mount helps stabilise the drivetrain during acceleration, braking and gear changes while reducing vibration and harshness transmitted into the vehicle body.

Over time the original rubber mounting can soften, crack or separate from the metal housing, leading to excessive engine movement, knocking during gear changes, vibration through the cabin or poor gearshift feel. Replacing worn gearbox mounts helps restore smoother drivetrain operation and proper transmission alignment.
