Beetle Clutch Cross Shaft - 1961-70 (Also Splitscreen Bus 1964-67)

This standard clutch cross shaft is a precise reproduction of the early-style design, used across a range of classic aircooled Volkswagens including Beetles, Karmann Ghias, Type 3s, and Splitscreen Buses. It’s an essential internal gearbox component that ensures smooth clutch operation by transferring pedal movement through the clutch cable to the release bearing.

Located inside the bellhousing of the gearbox, the cross shaft supports the clutch release bearing in its centre, allowing it to pivot when the clutch pedal is pressed. This releases pressure from the clutch plate, enabling clean gear changes and smooth driving.

Designed for use with early-style clutch release bearings that utilise separate retaining clips, this shaft offers a reliable fit and function. Manufactured to exacting standards from durable steel, it provides dependable performance and long service life, ideal for restorations or gearbox rebuilds.
