Type 1 Fuel Pump (Alternator Models)

This standard “tilted” style mechanical fuel pump is designed for all Volkswagen aircooled engines from 1200cc to 1600cc fitted with alternators. The tilted body design provides the necessary clearance beneath the alternator housing while maintaining correct alignment with the fuel pump pushrod and carburettor feed line.

Suitable for all post-1966 style engines, this pump delivers reliable fuel flow from the tank to the carburettor using engine-driven mechanical action. It features a traditional lever-actuated diaphragm system and is compatible with standard single or twin carburettor setups.

This pump requires a 100mm long pushrod for correct operation and will not function properly with the longer 108mm type used on dynamo engines. However, it can be used on engines equipped with a dynamo if the 100mm pushrod is fitted.
