Suitable for Beetle models produced before December 1953, Splitscreen Buses built before April 1960 (without vacuum advance), and Karmann Ghias manufactured before 1960, these points are a good quality reproduction made to Bosch specification.

Ignition points play a vital role in your distributor by opening and closing the low-voltage circuit to the ignition coil, which controls spark delivery to the engine. Over time, points wear or burn due to constant arcing, which can cause misfires or poor starting — replacing them ensures a reliable spark and optimal performance.

These points are designed to fit Bosch distributor models VE 4 BRS 383, VJR 4 BR 8, VJR 4 BR 25, and 0 231 129 019, all of which were commonly used on early VW Type 1 aircooled engines. They are individually sold and should be set to a contact gap of 0.4mm (0.016”) during installation for best results.
