Beetle Indicator Switch - 1970-71 (Wiper Switch On Dashboard)

This indicator switch is designed specifically for VW Beetles and Karmann Ghias built from 1970 to 1971, where the wiper switch is located on the dashboard rather than on the steering column. Featuring a black stalk and period-correct construction, it replaces worn, broken, or intermittently functioning indicator switches commonly found on ageing classic VW steering columns.

The switch fits vehicles from chassis number 111 2000 001 onward and includes the correct 8-wire loom to integrate seamlessly with the factory wiring system. Over time, original indicator switches often suffer from worn contacts, broken return springs, cracked housings, or loose stalk joints. Replacing the unit provides crisp indicator action and dependable electrical contact—restoring safe signalling function and proper self-cancelling performance (when used with a correct cancelling ring).

This reproduction switch installs directly to the steering column housing and connects via its pre-terminated wiring harness. It is suitable for both original and restored wiring looms.

• Brown (S) – Horn/indicator switching reference

• Brown/White – Earth

• Black

• Black/White – Left indicator circuit

• Black/Green – Right indicator circuit

• Red/Black (sometimes Yellow/Black depending on car)
