This rubber seal fits between the headlight unit and the body, providing a watertight seal on early Volkswagen and Porsche models with sloping headlight designs. It is essential for protecting the headlight assembly and surrounding bodywork from water ingress, dirt and corrosion.

Fitted behind the headlight rim, this seal compresses as the headlight assembly is secured to the body, creating a tight barrier that prevents moisture from entering the headlight bucket. Over time, original seals can perish, crack or flatten, allowing water to enter and potentially damage wiring, reflectors and body panels. Replacing these seals is especially important during restoration work or when refurbishing headlights.

This seal is correct for early aircooled models including pre-1967 Beetles and Splitscreen Buses, as well as Porsche 356 models using the same style headlight arrangement. For a complete headlight rebuild, you may also require the headlight lens to rim seal (part number 111941119), which seals the glass lens to the chrome headlight rim.

Sold individually, 2 seals are required per vehicle.
