T1 70-71 + T2 70-74 Ignition Switch (Plastic Housing with 7 Wires)

Replacement ignition switch with plastic housing and 7 pre-fitted wires for a wide range of late aircooled VW models. This electrical ignition switch mounts to the rear of the steering lock assembly and controls the ignition, starter motor operation and switched electrical circuits.

Over time the original ignition switches commonly fail due to heat, age and wear inside the electrical contacts. Typical faults include intermittent starting problems, loss of ignition power, sticking starter motors or accessories failing to operate correctly when the key is turned.

This replacement switch is supplied with the wires already soldered into the rear of the switch body, exactly like the original factory style design fitted to many models from 1970 onwards.

Please note that not all wires may be used depending on your vehicle specification and factory fitted options. If your original switch has a plastic body with wires permanently soldered to the rear, this is the correct replacement type.
