Beetle Closed Swing Axle Boot (also Splitscreen Bus Closed Axle Boot)

This rear axle boot is designed for use on all swing axle gearboxes, sealing the axle tube to retain gearbox oil and protect internal components.
The axle boot plays a vital role in keeping transmission oil contained within the gearbox while allowing it to travel down the axle tubes to lubricate the rear hubs and bearings. Without a proper seal, oil loss can occur, leading to premature wear or failure of bearings and drivetrain components.
This is the original-style solid boot, meaning installation requires removal of the axle assembly. While more labour intensive than split boots, this design offers a superior seal and improved long-term reliability, making it the preferred choice for restorations and long-term use.
Manufactured from durable rubber, the boot flexes with suspension movement while maintaining a tight seal against dirt, water, and contaminants.

How It Works
The boot fits over the axle tube where it exits the gearbox, sealing the joint while still allowing movement as the suspension travels. This ensures oil remains inside the system and continues to lubricate the outer axle components.
