Type 1 Oil Filler Cap - Metal

This metal oil filler cap is designed for classic Volkswagen aircooled 30hp and 1200-1600cc engines, sealing the oil filler neck to help keep engine oil contained and the crankcase protected from dirt, dust, and moisture. It includes the gasket required to create a proper seal between the cap and filler, helping to reduce oil mist escape and maintain correct crankcase breathing performance.

On aircooled VW engines, the oil filler cap is a simple but important service item. A worn, loose, or damaged cap can allow oil vapour to escape into the engine bay and may also let contamination into the engine. Replacing it with a correct metal cap and sealing gasket helps restore a secure fit and keeps the filler assembly working as intended. This is ideal for routine maintenance, engine bay restoration, or replacing an original cap that has become rusty, bent, or no longer seals correctly.

Fits classic Volkswagen aircooled models with 30hp and 1200cc, 1300cc, 1500cc, and 1600cc engines.
