This replacement oil strainer is designed for aircooled Volkswagen engines up to 1600cc, specifically those fitted with an 18.5mm diameter hole in the centre to accommodate the oil pickup tube. It plays a vital role in filtering large particles and debris from engine oil before it circulates through the system, helping extend engine life and maintain oil flow.
Ideal for most Type 1 aircooled engines from 1969 onward, this strainer also fits Type 25 (T3) buses fitted with 1600cc CT engines. The strainer installs in the sump and works in conjunction with the sump plate and gaskets (sold separately—see part number 113198031).
If your engine uses a 14.5mm pickup tube, please refer to part number 311115175A instead.
