Type 1 Oil Pump - 26mm Gears - 4 Bolt Camshaft (1971-79) - 8mm Studs

Ensure reliable oil pressure and engine longevity with this standard 26mm aluminium oil pump, designed for Type 1 aircooled engines fitted with 8mm oil pump studs and a 4-rivet (or 4-bolt) camshaft. This is the correct specification pump as fitted from August 1970 onwards on most 1300cc–1600cc engines.

The oil pump is responsible for circulating engine oil under pressure, drawing oil from the sump and distributing it through the crankshaft, camshaft, bearings and valve train. The 26mm gear size refers to the depth of the internal gears, providing a balanced oil flow suitable for standard engines—offering good pressure without overloading the oil system.

This pump is specifically designed to work with camshafts that use the 4-rivet cam gear fixing. It is not compatible with earlier 3-rivet camshafts or engines with different stud sizes. The aluminium housing offers lightweight durability and precise tolerances for efficient operation.

Ideal for stock rebuilds, servicing, or replacing a worn oil pump to restore correct oil pressure and engine protection.
