T25,G2 Reversing Light Switch - 1988-92 (M12x1.5)

his reversing light switch is designed for later Volkswagen gearboxes fitted to T25 (T3) models from 1988 onwards, along with a wide range of watercooled VW vehicles. It activates the reverse lights when reverse gear is selected, ensuring proper visibility and safety when manoeuvring.

The switch is mounted in the gearbox and operates mechanically—when reverse gear is engaged, an internal plunger closes the circuit, illuminating the rear reversing lights. A faulty switch can result in no reverse lights, intermittent operation, or lights staying on permanently.

This version features an M12 x 1.5 thread with 2-pin connection, corresponding to later gearbox types. It is interchangeable with other M12 versions, with the only difference being the electrical connector style. Correct mounting depth is important for proper operation, and washers may be required to fine-tune positioning.
