T4 Brake Vacuum Pump - 1995-03 - 2.4 Diesel + 2.5 TDI

This mechanical brake vacuum pump is a direct replacement unit designed to provide consistent vacuum supply for the brake servo on Volkswagen diesel engines. It is essential for ensuring proper brake assistance, giving a firm and responsive brake pedal under all driving conditions.

On diesel engines, vacuum is not naturally produced like on petrol engines, so this pump is driven mechanically by the engine to generate the vacuum required for the brake booster system. A failing pump can lead to a hard brake pedal, reduced braking efficiency, and unsafe driving conditions. Replacing a worn or noisy pump restores correct braking performance and driver confidence.

This unit is a direct replacement for later T4 models (1994 onwards) and is equivalent to part number 074145100A. It can also be fitted to earlier T4 models (pre-1994) as a replacement for 075145100, provided the correct push rod (074145307B – 67.5mm) is installed.
