Solex 30 PICT Carburettor Fuel Cut Off Valve - 1968-70 - Type 1 Engines

This 12-volt idle fuel cut-off valve is designed for use with 30 PICT carburettors fitted to early Volkswagen aircooled Type 1 engines. This is the correct early “jet style” version, as originally used on late 1960s models.

The fuel cut-off valve is an electrically operated shut-off device that controls the flow of fuel to the idle circuit within the carburettor. When the ignition is switched on, the valve opens to allow fuel flow for idle operation. When the ignition is turned off, it closes instantly, preventing fuel from entering the engine. This helps eliminate engine run-on (dieseling) and ensures smooth engine shutdown.

A faulty or failed valve can cause symptoms such as engine stalling at idle, inability to idle, or continued running after the ignition is switched off. Replacing it restores proper idle function and reliable engine control.

This valve is designed for 12V systems and features the correct jet-style construction for period-correct fitment. Ideal for restoration projects or resolving idle-related carburettor issues.
