9mm Valve Guide - Inlet - Type 1 Engines

Standard inlet and exhaust valve guide for Volkswagen aircooled cylinder heads fitted with 9mm valve stem valves. This guide is manufactured to the original inlet guide specification but can also be used to replace the original exhaust valve guide, which is no longer available, without any fitment issues.

Valve guides support and align the valves within the cylinder head and allow heat to transfer from the valve into the cylinder head. Worn guides can cause smoking, oil consumption, poor compression and valve noise, so replacing them during an engine rebuild or cylinder head overhaul is recommended.

This guide has an outside diameter of 13.06mm and is suitable for standard cylinder heads. If your cylinder heads have previously been machined and the guide bore is oversized, oversize valve guides are available separately.
