T5 Fuel Vacuum Pump Gasket - 1.9 TDI (AXB,AXC,BRR,BRS)

The fuel and vacuum pump gasket seals the joint between the tandem pump and the cylinder head on Volkswagen PD (Pumpe Düse) diesel engines. The tandem pump performs two important jobs: it supplies vacuum for the brake servo system and also supplies low-pressure fuel to the injectors. This gasket ensures a proper seal between the pump and cylinder head, preventing fuel leaks, oil leaks and vacuum loss.

A failing tandem pump gasket can cause diesel leaks down the side of the engine, oil leaks, poor braking assistance due to vacuum loss, air entering the fuel system, difficult starting, or poor engine performance. This is a common service item on PD engines and should always be replaced if the tandem pump is removed.

The gasket sits between the tandem pump and the cylinder head and is a straightforward replacement when servicing the pump or repairing leaks. When replacing this gasket, it is recommended to inspect the tandem pump for leaks and check the vacuum hoses for cracks or wear.
