T5 Cylinder Head Gasket - 1.9 TDI (BRR,AXC,BRS,AXB) - 3 Notch

This 1.65mm cylinder head gasket is the 3 hole / notch identification version for Volkswagen 1.9 diesel and 1.9 TDI engines. The head gasket seals between the engine block and cylinder head, keeping combustion pressure in the cylinders while also separating the oil and coolant passages. This is essential for correct compression, coolant circulation and oil control.

A failed head gasket can cause coolant loss, overheating, pressure in the cooling system, oil contamination, white smoke, poor starting, misfire on start-up or low compression. On rebuilt engines, the correct gasket thickness is critical. This 3 hole / notch gasket must only be fitted where the engine requires this piston protrusion specification. Always check the markings on the old gasket and confirm engine build measurements before ordering.

This gasket is commonly used on T5 1.9 TDI AXB, AXC, BRR and BRS engines, and also fits a wide range of 1.9 TDI passenger car applications including Mk4 Golf, Bora and Caddy Mk3 1.9 diesel models. When replacing the head gasket, it is recommended to fit new head bolts and inspect or renew the timing belt kit, water pump, thermostat, oil and filter. The cylinder head should also be checked for flatness before refitting.
