G2 Water Hose - Intake Manifold To Carburetor - 1.6, 1.8

This coolant hose fits between the intake manifold and carburettor heating circuit on a range of classic watercooled Volkswagen petrol models. Its job is to carry warm coolant through the manifold area, helping the carburettor and inlet manifold reach operating temperature correctly. This improves fuel atomisation, reduces the risk of carb icing in cold or damp conditions, and helps the engine run more smoothly during warm-up and normal driving.
On carburettor-equipped engines, manifold heating is an important part of the cooling and induction system. As coolant passes through the manifold, it helps prevent the fuel mixture from condensing inside the inlet tract. A tired, cracked or swollen hose can lead to coolant leaks, poor warm-up behaviour, unstable idle, and reduced reliability. Replacing this hose is a sensible preventative maintenance job on older VW models, especially where original rubber hoses have hardened with age.
This hose is suitable for Mk2 Golf, Jetta II, Passat B2 and early Passat B3/B4 petrol carburettor models with 1.6 and 1.8 engines as listed below. For best results, inspect the adjoining hose clips, manifold fittings, carburettor flange area, and the rest of the cooling hoses when fitting. Fresh coolant and new clamps may also be required depending on the condition of the existing system.
