T4 Starter Motor - Manual Gearboxes

This high-torque starter motor is designed for VW T4 Transporter models fitted with 1.9–2.8 engines and a manual gearbox. It is the new-style, self-supporting starter, meaning it does not require the traditional gearbox bush to support the shaft—making it a reliable upgrade over earlier designs and ideal when replacing worn or obsolete starters.

With a 2.0 kW output and dual pinion options (10 or 11 teeth), this unit delivers the cranking power required for larger petrol engines and high-compression diesels, including TD and TDI variants. It restores fast, confident starting and correct engagement with the flywheel ring gear, even under heavy-duty use.

Manual transmission only. Not suitable for automatic gearboxes.
