T4 Gear Shift Rod Housing Seal

This gear selector rod housing oil seal fits the selector shaft where it enters the gearbox casing on T4 Transporter 5-speed manual transmissions. Its job is simple but vital: it seals gearbox oil inside the casing while allowing the selector rod to move freely during gear changes.

When this seal hardens or wears, you’ll often see oil weeping from the selector housing area, leading to gearbox oil loss, messy undertrays, and eventually poor lubrication. Replacing the seal restores a proper oil-tight seal and helps protect the gearbox from premature wear.
