Cylinder Head To Heat Exchanger Gasket - 1978-83 - Type 4 Engines - 1+4 Cylinder (In-Line Holes)

This replacement cylinder head to heat exchanger gasket is designed specifically for cylinders 1 and 4, which use straight mounting holes, on 2000cc Type 4 aircooled engines. It provides a gas-tight seal between the cylinder head and heat exchanger, preventing exhaust leaks, loss of heater efficiency, and unwanted noise.

Correct sealing at this joint is essential on Type 4 engines, as even minor leaks can lead to poor cabin heating, hot exhaust gases entering the engine bay, and long-term damage to surrounding components. This gasket is shaped to suit the left-hand side of the engine and must be matched with the correct opposite-side gasket for a complete repair.
