T4 Exhaust Centre Box - 1990-95 - 1.9 Diesel (1X Engines)

This centre exhaust silencer (middle box) is a direct replacement for Volkswagen T4 1.9 diesel models fitted with the 1X engine. Positioned between the front exhaust pipe and the rear tail section, the middle silencer is responsible for reducing exhaust noise while maintaining correct exhaust flow and back pressure.

Manufactured to match the original factory design, this silencer is suitable for both Short Wheel Base (SWB) and Long Wheel Base (LWB) vehicles. On SWB models, the rear exhaust pipe must be shortened by approximately 400mm to achieve the correct overall system length. On LWB models, it fits directly with the standard rear section.

A failing centre silencer can cause excessive noise, vibration, and exhaust leaks. Replacing it restores quiet operation, correct exhaust routing, and overall system integrity—especially important on working vans and campers.
